Happy Mothers Day from the JSPA!

The JSPA always looks forward to celebrating Mothers Day each year. The celebration starts with the Whole School Mothers Day Luncheon. The organising committee is made up of representatives from all four parent associations, and this year Geordie Nehme was our JSPA representative along with JSK parents Helen Jeffreys and Tiffany Zanatta. Many Junior School mums attended the event, enjoying the opportunity to catch up with other mums both at Leonda by the Yarra and afterwards at Fargo & Co.

We also celebrate our mums every year at our annual JSPA Mothers Day Breakfast at the Jeffrey O Thomas Quadrangle, organised by Desi Vlahos, Kathy Vlahos and Geordie Nehme. Junior School kids join their mums, grandmas and carers for this special occasion. This is a lovely time for families to connect with their children and for them to appreciate their hardworking ‘super hero’ mums.

Both these events enable us to support other mums in need through the charities Share The Dignity and St Kilda Mums.

The children also love making gifts for their mums to help celebrate Mothers Day. Each year level, from ELC to Year 6, spend time dedicated to creating a special present for mum during their art lessons. Using money raised from the end of term sausage sizzle, the JSPA pays for and organises the gift-wrapping of these mementos.

The JSPA would like to thank all the volunteers and all those involved in these events celebrating the best kind of hood – Motherhood!

Happy Mothers Day to all Carey mums.
