Year 6 Canberra Trip
There were many highlights for the Year 6 students over their action-packed week in Canberra last week. A special highlight though was meeting the Governor General, Sir Peter Cosgrove, and participating in the laying of a wreath at the Australian War Memorial to honour our soldiers who have lost their lives in war.

A lot of thought goes into class placements, and priority is given to getting the best combination of students for learning. It is important that students experience different teachers and students each year. It builds their resilience and adaptability, and provides opportunities to make new friends. The teachers have a very good knowledge of what combinations would work best to support your child’s development – both academically and socially.

If there are any issues you have not already discussed with your child’s classroom teacher that you think are important in considering for their class placement for next year, please talk to the teacher. However, I would like to make it very clear we will not guarantee that we can meet any requests, as our priority will be to serve all children in getting the very best combination for their learning. This also applies to requests for specific teachers.

Summer Concert
A highlight in the Junior School calendar is the annual Summer Concert, which is held in the Phil DeYoung Performing Arts Centre at 7.00pm on Wednesday 16 November. Make sure you have it marked in the diary, if you do not already.
