From the Head of Junior School

Christmas Service
Christmas finally arrived at Junior School when we sang Christmas carols and gave thanks for the birth of Jesus at our service yesterday afternoon. Thank you to all the students and Mrs de Paiva who brought the Christmas story to life.

House Fundraising Afternoon
Last week ended with lots of fun at the House Fundraising Afternoon on Cluny Green. There was a real carnival atmosphere as the students participated in a variety of activities with their buddies. The Year 5 students are to be congratulated for organising all of the activities. The purpose of this activity was to raise funds for our sponsored children.

Year 6 Graduation Assembly
The Year 6 students have been preparing for their special final Assembly on Thursday at 11.30am in the Memorial Great Hall. It is always a moving event as we farewell the students from Junior School and acknowledge their contributions.

Final Day and Giving Tree Ceremony
A reminder that students wear casual clothes with a touch of Christmas tomorrow (Friday 9 December) and the day finishes at 12.30pm, following the Giving Tree Ceremony. Please see the Chaplain’s section for more detail.

We hope you have enjoyed sharing your child’s portfolio and report with them, and celebrating their learning journey over Semester 2. Staff are at school all next week till Wednesday, so please do not hesitate to contact them if there is anything you would like to discuss.

Thanks and best wishes for a safe and happy holiday
We farewell David Tait, Sarah Gearing and Paul Cornell at the end of this year, and I would like to thank them sincerely for their contributions to the Junior School. We also wish Louise Sayar all the best for her Long Service Leave for Semester 1.

I would like to thank the wonderful staff for all their hard work this year, and also the children for the excellent progress they have made. There has been much to celebrate this year.

Finally, I wish all families a safe and happy holiday, and I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
